Another type of chart is being used to predict global crises. The increase in Pentagon-ordered meals has become a surprisingly accurate predictor of major geopolitical events. So accurate is it that it's known as the "Pentagon Pizza Index." And the latest case just proves this theory!
Tracking activity at local pizza restaurants in Arlington County, the "X" account called "Pentagon Pizza Report" noticed a spike in activity from four pizzerias near the Pentagon on June 12. It was found that there were more orders than usual, around 7:00 p.m.
This happened just hours before news of Israel's attack on Iran broke. But the predictive power of pizza is not a new theory. As Alex Selby-Boothroyd, a journalist for The Economist, wrote on LinkedIn, this method has been used for a long time.

During the Cold War, Soviet operatives reportedly monitored pizza delivery activity in Washington, believing that a sudden spike in overnight requests signaled that military personnel were working overtime. They even gave it a code name: Pizzaint!
In January 1991, Frank Meeks, who at the time owned 43 Domino's outlets in the Washington area, told the Los Angeles Times: The media doesn't always know when something big is going to happen because they're in bed, but the pizza delivery guys are there at 2 in the morning.
He added that on the night of August 1, 1990, the CIA ordered a record number of pizzas in a single night - 21. A few hours later, Iraqi forces invaded Kuwait, marking the beginning of the Gulf War.
But the Pentagon dismissed the theory, noting that they have plenty of options for food within their building, even consuming sushi, sandwiches and pancakes.
However, the theory stands!
