Today, at 1:30 PM, the Basic Court in Pristina is expected to announce the verdict against Naim Murseli, Granit Plava and Kushtrim Kokalla, accused in the case of the murder of Liridona Ademaj.
The final arguments in this trial were presented on Friday, when the parties presented their positions regarding the evidence and the criminal liability of the accused.
The prosecution has requested the maximum sentence, namely life imprisonment, claiming that the murder was organized and carried out in a planned manner. The victim's family has also filed the same request for a life sentence.
On the other hand, the defense has contested the charges, emphasizing the lack of direct evidence and demanding that the decision be based only on incontestable evidence.
Liridona Ademaj was murdered in November 2023, on a street in the village of Bërrnicë, Pristina. According to the indictment, her ex-husband, Naim Murseli, is suspected of planning the murder, Granit Plava is accused of carrying it out, and Kushtrim Kokalla is accused of mediating the relationship between them.
The prosecution claims that the motive for the crime is related to revenge and financial gain from a life insurance policy in Sweden, worth around 260 thousand euros. According to it, Murseli organized the murder in collaboration with Kokalla and Plava, promising them a reward of 30 thousand euros for committing the crime.
