The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m. Afterwards, Rama is expected to call the first meeting of the new cabinet.
The new ministers of the 'Rama 4' government cabinet will be sworn in today at the Presidency. It is learned that the swearing-in ceremony before President Bajram Begaj will take place at 10:00.
A day after the approval of the governing program and the new cabinet with 82 votes in the Assembly, in a session that lasted only 25 minutes, Prime Minister Edi Rama and 16 new ministers will take the oath of office in the Presidency today. After the oath, Rama is expected to call the first meeting of the new government, as in previous mandates.
Thursday's session, which was expected to be a marathon of debates, was interrupted for less than half an hour due to tensions. The reason was the speech that the prime minister "gave" to the virtual minister Diella, which brought the opposition's reaction. The majority did not tolerate the chaotic behavior of the democratic deputies and after several warnings, put the government program and cabinet to a vote.
The DP requested in an official letter to the Parliament the cancellation of the plenary session and its repetition. The Democrats consider Rama's use of the virtual minister as an act contrary to the law and as a provocation against the opposition. They argue that their behavior did not constitute a violation of parliamentary ethics, but was a form of reaction used in other parliaments as well, citing a case in the European Parliament as an example.
In addition, the DP has warned that it will request a motion for the dismissal of the Speaker of the Assembly, Niko Peleshi.
Meanwhile, the Ethics Committee will meet today at 10:00, following the SP's request to take disciplinary measures against Gazment Bardhi and Fidel Kreka, who during the session threw a bottle of water and the Assembly's regulations at Prime Minister Rama.
