The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has called on Albanian citizens to express their views on their future and the country's European path on April 17, linking this to recent political developments and the integration process.
In a statement to the media, Berisha accused Prime Minister Edi Rama and the government of obstructing Albania's integration into the European Union.
He stated that, in his opinion, responsibility for issues related to abuses and various files falls directly on the Prime Minister.
"At first glance it seems like it's about other issues, but in fact in every file, the first thief is Edi Rama and the one giving the orders is Edi Rama," Berisha declared.
Referring to institutions, he claimed that some of them are under the direct influence of the prime minister and his family. He also accused the media of, according to him, spreading "toxic propaganda" to hide reality.
Berisha described this issue as essential for the country's European future, emphasizing that any obstacle in this process is related, according to him, to the government's actions.
He also focused on the EU integration process, mentioning the importance of standards and mechanisms such as IBAR, which, according to him, are key to advancing negotiations.
"Blocking IBAR means blocking the closure of every chapter," he said, adding that this situation, according to him, is related to political interference to avoid investigations.
In conclusion, the leader of the DP reiterated the call to citizens to engage in this process.
"I invite Albanians on April 17 to talk about themselves and their future in Europe," he declared.
