President Bajram Begaj welcomed the opening of the fourth group chapter at the Albania-EU Intergovernmental Conference held in Brussels.

Chapter 4 includes key sectors of the European Green Deal.

President Begaj praised the importance of this act, describing it as an important step on the path to Albania's full membership in the European Union.

The Head of State expressed confidence that with this pace of progress, the opening of all negotiation chapters with the European Union will be finalized within the year.

"Another very important step in the process of full European membership.
Today Albania opened negotiations for Chapter 4: Green Agenda & Sustainable Connectivity.
At this pace, Albania is on track to achieve its objective of opening all negotiation chapters within the year," Begaj said in his reaction.
