Gazmend Leka: In the dictatorship we were banned from nudity, in democracy we escaped in vain from the "blind bullet"

In a different interview in "Artkand" on Top Channel, the artist Gazmend Leka spoke about the last canvas brought to the exhibition.

The artist remembered, among other things, the time of the dictatorship, where by the order of Mehmet Shehu, the school excluded the technique of nude art, which he called "immoral".

"When I was a student, nudes were banned, they were called shameful. Mehmet Shehu said what are these, take them away. We grew up as a generation without nudity, it was essential to art school. In switching systems it was numb, I have always included nudes in my compositions, but they are mixed. It is a return not to heaven, but to hell. In 97' we know, we escaped the blind bullets in vain. It was terrible, even though today we laugh", said Leka.

The artist celebrated his 71st birthday and was surprised by the director in the studio with the birthday song.
