The photo of 45-year-old Valter Lleshi, who was killed by a hail of bullets on Monday morning in the village of Shkorrët, Mirdita, has been published.
Lleshi was found dead inside a company vehicle where he was employed, along the Reps-Spaç road. According to preliminary investigations, he was shot with automatic gunfire while on his way to work, receiving multiple wounds that caused his death on the spot.
18 shell casings were seized at the scene, while the victim was found by another company employee, who was also on his way to work and immediately notified the police.
Valter Lleshi was an employee of the company "Balkan Basalt", a Dutch-owned company specializing in the production of basalt stone, with a processing plant in Spaç. The vehicle in which the 45-year-old was traveling also turned out to be owned by the company.
Sources close to the investigation group indicate that the main track on which the investigations are focusing is that of revenge. One of the suspicions that is being verified is related to the possible involvement of Lleshi in the murder of Anton Keli in Rrëshen, an event that occurred years ago. Keli turns out to have been a relative of Armando Gjini.
However, police sources clarify that so far Valter Lleshi has neither been investigated nor filed as a suspect in the murder of Anton Keli, while any possible connection between the two events remains in the verification phase.
Investigators are also looking into other incidents that may be related to the victim. In March of this year, explosives were placed on a heavy-duty machine driven by Lleshi at the company where he worked, but it did not explode.
There are no security cameras in the area where the crime occurred, which makes investigative work difficult. Police are continuing to conduct field checks, while sniffer dogs are also being used to find evidence that could lead to the identification of the perpetrators.
