The Director of the Durrës Local Police Directorate, Ervin Hodaj, announced in a press conference that Elton Beqiri, the suspected perpetrator of the injury in Shijak, has been arrested.
"First, taking the lead in relation to the injury in Shijak, the perpetrator was captured and arrested for 'intentional serious injury'. It was a commitment of all forces. One of the police methods was also cooperation with family members. There was no resistance during the arrest," said Hodaj.
The gunshot wound occurred on Sunday afternoon in Shijak in the "Laguna" neighborhood, where so far a conflict for weak motives is suspected.
The Director of the Durrës Local Police Directorate said that during the arrest, the perpetrator, Elton Beqiri, did not resist.
At the press conference, Hodaj also reviewed the work and activity of the Directorate for the month of May.
"During this period, 383 criminal offenses were identified, of which 382 were discovered. 117 people were placed in custody, 302 were processed at large and 15 were declared wanted."
"10 police operations have been finalized, where 36 people have been arrested. The operations have found in the field of drug sales where 3 operations have been finalized, 2 of them for the distribution of narcotics near schools in Shijak and Kavajë," he said.
Regarding traffic management during the summer season, he highlighted that a number of measures have been taken, including monitoring with intelligent devices.
