Monday, March 31, 2025, was the deadline for submitting the DIVA 2024 and Profit Tax Declaration, but in an announcement made today by the Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, this deadline has been extended by another 24 hours.
According to the minister, it has been decided that April 1, 2025 will be the last day for the submission of DIVA 2024, on the grounds that March 31 was an official holiday.
"As announced on the Tax Administration's social media, tomorrow, April 1, 2025, is the deadline for submitting the DIVA 2024. The same deadline, April 1, 2025, also applies to submitting the Profit Tax Declaration ," the announcement states.
The obligation applies to all employees who had a gross monthly salary of over 100 thousand lek during the past year (over 1.2 million lek per year), dual employees, and those who have income of up to 50 thousand lek that is not taxable and earned from daily rental income, AirBnB, or Booking.
Around 144 thousand citizens will have to complete the DIVA 2024 annual individual income declaration.
As of March 26, 85,000 declarations had been submitted. Anyone who fails to submit a declaration is fined 3,000 lek, plus interest and late payment interest.
Completing this declaration serves the Tax Administration to conduct checks for tax evasion, as well as to investigate assets. The deadline was March 31, but the Tax Directorate postponed it until April 1 because today is an official holiday.
