Cocaine trafficking through art shops, criminal organization dismantled in

A drug trafficking organization has been dismantled in the Piraeus area by the Narcotics Sub-Directorate of the Directorate for Countermeasures against Organized Crime in Greece.

Hellenic police said today that they arrested three Greeks, aged 49, 46 and 40, as members of the organization and a 22-year-old foreigner, who was found on a Piraeus street with a quantity of cocaine, which he had previously purchased from the 40-year-old.

The police investigation revealed that the 40-year-old acted as the leader of the organization, while also coordinating the actions of other members, finding suppliers and clients, receiving and keeping the profits, as well as rebranding and trafficking drugs. Most of the activity was carried out camouflaged through art shops and other premises, informs "Protothema".

The 49-year-old was responsible for providing space for storing and hiding weapons, drugs and proceeds, using a motorcycle repair shop and his own home as cover, and the 46-year-old was responsible for storing and transporting the drugs, as well as, when appropriate, trafficking them.

It is noted that one of the defendants has been arrested in the past, among other things, for criminal organization and drug law violations, and restrictive conditions have been imposed on him.

In a search of a house and a garage used by the gang, the following were found and seized:

-3.8 kilograms of cocaine

-845 grams of cannabis

-5 “ECSTASY” tablets

-rifle

-49 bullets
-2 private cars

-1 motorcycle

-6560 euros

-4 mobile phones

-2 cameras

-safe with 3 keys
