"It was insulting", Le Pen sides with Meloni after clash with Trump!

Marine Le Pen has supported Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in her public clash with Donald Trump, assessing that the American president had crossed the line with his statements.

"He was very offensive, so I completely understand Giorgia Meloni's reaction, which is a reaction of national pride," Le Pen said in an interview with French radio.

According to her, the recent tensions do not mean a breakdown in relations between Italy and the United States, but have led to a deterioration in the relationship between the two leaders.

"Is this a final separation between the two nations? Of course not. Is this a serious cooling of relations between the two peoples? Absolutely," she declared.

Le Pen noted that international relations are guided by state interests and not personal relationships.

"When it comes to international relations, there are no friends. There are interests, which can be common or opposing," she said.

Her statements come at a time when other prominent figures in the National Rally have taken more critical stances towards Trump. Jordan Bardella, considered Le Pen's political successor, recently described the US president as "unpredictable and extremely unstable", although he had previously expressed appreciation for him.

Commenting on Trump's policies, Le Pen said he remains "undoubtedly a symbol of political will that has not been seen in Europe for decades ," but added that in foreign policy he has acted differently than he had promised.

As an example, she cited the approach to Iran, which she said has deepened the differences between the US administration and part of the European right.

The clash between Trump and Meloni began after the US president claimed that the Italian prime minister had "begged" him for a photo together during the G7 summit and that she was using her relationship with him for political gain in Italy. Meloni dismissed the claims, stating that he had "made that up" and that he should mind his own business.
