Tensions between Iran and the United States continue to escalate, as the Iranian military warned that the conflict could expand into "new arenas" if Washington continues military operations against Iranian territory.
According to a statement quoted by the Iranian state news agency Fars, an army spokesman said that a significant part of Iran's military capabilities has not yet been used.
"If hostile actions against the country continue, Iran's response will be proportionate to the circumstances, beyond the enemy's expectations, and new arenas of confrontation will emerge ," the statement said.
The official did not specify which countries or regions could be involved in a possible escalation of the conflict, but stressed that Iran has "no conflict" with neighboring Gulf states.
In a separate statement, the Iranian military described the Strait of Hormuz as an "invincible red line," warning that it would not allow American interference in this strategic sea route.
Iranian authorities also warned that, if the US carries out threats to strike Iran's civilian infrastructure, Tehran will respond by targeting infrastructure in the Gulf region.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed to have carried out retaliatory attacks on US military bases in Bahrain and Kuwait. According to statements published by Iranian state media, military facilities, including radars, satellite communications centers and fuel depots, were hit at the Sheikh Isa base in Bahrain and Ali al-Salem base in Kuwait.
These claims have not been independently confirmed by US authorities or the countries involved. On the other hand, the US has expanded military operations in Iran, striking targets in the north of the country, including areas around Tehran and Semnan province, where facilities linked to Iran's ballistic missile and space programs are located, according to Iranian state media.
In response to these attacks, Iran reportedly launched missiles and drones at targets in Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait. The situation remains highly tense, with threats and military operations from both sides raising the risk of a wider escalation in the Middle East region.
