The leader of the "Together Movement", Arlind Qori, spoke about the 47th citizens' protest. He stated that the government and the prime minister are refusing to read the message of the protest and are responding to citizens' dissatisfaction with conspiracy theories. He emphasized that the participation in the protest has been unprecedented.
"Over 100,000 people have participated in these 47 days of protest. Never has there been so much protest and for so long. It is a record that I believe rivals even more advanced societies," he said.
Qori also stated that the problems that citizens have brought to light are real and accused the prime minister of refusing to see them.
"The problems that push citizens to protest are numerous. Rama acts like he's the prime minister of Finland and says that these are dissatisfactions that come from welfare," he added.
He listed the closure of businesses, the departure of citizens from the country, and the state of the healthcare system as concerns.
"There are businesses that close, 50 thousand citizens who leave every year because they cannot find work, opportunities. There are endless citizens who clash in public hospitals, there are no medicines, no equipment. The QSUT itself was asking for charity, the support of citizens to buy equipment, while the government finds millions of euros to give to a billionaire singer, with sympathy for Hitler and the scum of humanity," continued Qori.
Qori stressed that the protest has changed the social climate and that citizens are no longer afraid. He also criticized the way in which, according to him, the government is interpreting the protest.
"Citizens have already killed their fear, they have gotten to know each other, they have seen how many there are who want change. The way Rama and SP representatives have interpreted the protest leaves the taste of a government that has lost touch with society and is ultimately autocratic. Conspiracy theories are used by Putin, Vučić and Lukashenko. These are Rama's ideological comrades in Europe," he said.
In the end, Qori stated that Albanian society has transcended the current political class and that the protest has demonstrated a high level of civic engagement.
"Society has surpassed Rama, the Socialist Party, and other parties. A new Albania is not being sought in vain; it is not a utopian message, but a concrete desire for prosperity, freedom, and social justice. The protest has its ups and downs, but the fact that thousands of citizens show up and march has surprised me for the better, that Albanian society has been even better than we thought," concluded the leader of the "Together Movement."
