On the 53rd day of the anti-government protest, one of the activists who has participated in the rallies since day one appeared again with an ironic banner. Comparing the protest to a football match, he declared that the score is "53-0" in favor of the citizens and against the government.
"53-0, this is the result we have against the government, for 53 days we have been triumphing, winning and the government has not achieved any success. In the weakest matches, they give up, but the government has chosen to lose legitimacy ," he said.
A pensioner also spoke at the protest, saying that he was prompted to come out because of his low pension and his economic situation. He said that he is currently in court and that, due to insufficient income, he is forced to work illegally.
"I have come to call on the pensioners who are on the old 10,000 lek, the metallurgists, the miners to be here in the square and not to stay in the cafe."
I, who worked at the Mjekës factory, was a deputy at the time, only received overtime, now they receive subsidies. I received 9,000 lek back then, now I should receive 900,000. At the moment I work illegally, but Rama takes even this from me. I am in court.
So I call on the oil workers, the miners to come. The patronage workers receive 50,000 lek, and the policemen too.
"If the opposition MPs have a shred of manhood, representing 500,000 people there, let Saliu be with them and stick to Parliament ," he said.
