On the 53rd day of the anti-government protest, activist Ilir Xhemalaj declared that Prime Minister Edi Rama's government has lost the support of citizens and that, according to him, efforts to remain in power will not succeed.
He reiterated the protesters' demand for the government's resignation and the adoption of a new electoral code.
"This government has come to an end. It is doing everything to save itself, but it will not save itself. It is seeking to repeal laws, but we are not interested. We only want resignation. We have gathered in the square because we have been robbed. The food mafia is stealing from us. Oil is rising, food is increasing. This mafia is just stealing from everyone. But none of them will be saved. A prime minister who answers to Albanians with a fack y*u does not represent Albanians. This 80-year-old policy must go. They demand the resignation of this government, a new electoral code, we demand the resignation of the Rama government ," he said.
