The Gjirokastra Prosecution has requested a 30-year prison sentence for 72-year-old Thoma Mastora, accused of the murder of spouses Kosta and Kleoniqi Ilia, an event that occurred in May 2024 in Dropull.
The claim was filed at the end of the court process. According to the Prosecution, the evidence administered during the investigation supports the charge against Mastora for the murder of two elderly people in the village of Bodrishte.
The 72-year-old is accused of the criminal offense of "Murder in other aggravating circumstances", while the prosecution has requested a sentence of 30 years in prison from the Gjirokastra Court.
The incident occurred on May 2, 2024. According to the investigative file, the conflict began inside the elderly couple's apartment and then escalated, leading to the use of hard objects.
After the crime, Mastora, who was 69 years old at the time, left the apartment. Meanwhile, Kosta Ilia, 80 years old, and his wife, Kleoniqi Ilia, 84 years old, were found without signs of life. The decision of the Gjirokastra Court regarding the Prosecutor's Office's request for the defendant's conviction is now awaited.
