On the 53rd day of the anti-government protest, one of the activists responded to statements by the Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, who attributed the protests to the refusal to hold Jennifer Lopez's concert in Tirana and the failure of Kanye West's concert. The activist accused the minister of trying to blame the protesters for the government's failures, instead of taking responsibility for the situation in the country.
"Blendi Gonxhja complained and said that we, a failed minister, kicked out the concert and I tell him he does not represent us. Not only does he not represent us but you are one of the most shameful ministers because you have tried to expose your failures. Blendi Gonxhja did not have the backbone to come out and say I was wrong, you are reptiles because you find the first cause to remove responsibility from yourself.
Blendi Gonxhj, take responsibility and say that you took that money and used it because you wanted it and not because the people in the square wanted it that way. You are looking for ways to increase your millions, Albania seems like a gem to you, you take your vacations where it is most expensive and put up a fence, Albanians do it where the sewage flows.
You take the plane and get treated abroad, you have left the Albanians to fend for themselves and when they go to the ballot box because there is no freedom of thought they think that these people are lying to them, they are threatening them.
You have sabotaged us in tourism, you have failed us in the environment and Albania is depopulating.
The villages are depopulated and no energy is consumed. The average Albanian measures everything before spending it. We are not against investments, but against those who do not give us anything in return, we are against investments that put up a fence for us. We want Albania to be developed, but not according to you for your pockets.
You yourself tell the residents to invest and then demolish them, you don't even do the basic things for tourists, Saranda and Vlora are without energy, the landfill is burning because we know how the incinerators are funded. How can you have tourism when the cities are without water.
"We have been lied to and the status quo has been created that politicians lie, so I have a message: Come to the protest, be hope," he said.
