Albania's results so far at the "Paris 2024" Olympic Games have been disappointing from 5 of the 8 red and black athletes who have completed the competitions in the French capital.
Now the eyes will be on the freestyle wrestling champions. Zelimkhan Abakarov, Islam Dudaev and Chermen Valiev, who will compete this week. From the naturalized Russian wrestlers with Albanian passports, there are expectations for medals, which would be a historic result. Zelimkhan Abakarov, world champion with the red and black flag, will enter the mat first.
Abakarov will compete in the 57kg weight class, with qualifiers starting on August 8. A day later, Veliev will start the competition in the 74 kg weight class, while Albania's competition in the "Paris 2024" Olympics will be closed by the European champion, Islam Dudaev, on August 10 in the 65 kg weight class.
