Saturday's fight between Anthony Joshua and Kristian Prengë is under scrutiny after former Crystal Palace owner and talkSPORT commentator Simon Jordan raised doubts about the way the fight was conducted.
The heavyweight clash was considered by many to be an easy test for Joshua ahead of his scheduled duel with his longtime rival, Tyson Fury, later this year.
However, just seconds into the match, Joshua found himself in great difficulty after being knocked to the mat by a right kick from Prenga.
The Briton got to his feet, but it was clear he was close to defeat in the first round.
Prenga continued the pressure and knocked Joshua down once again in the final minute of the first round, forcing referee Luis Pabon to start a second count.
Although Joshua managed to return to his corner, he seemed very close to a defeat that could end his in-ring career.
However, what happened in the second round raised many questions.
Prenga didn't continue at the same aggressive pace and allowed Joshua time to recover. Moments later, the former world champion landed a powerful right hand, knocking out the Albanian and securing the victory.
After the match, Simon Jordan published a reaction on social media, where he raised doubts about the development of the duel.
"I don't believe that Anthony Joshua fight. He got knocked down twice and then suddenly took control of the pace in the second round. How is that possible? The fight was completely different in the second round. Something doesn't seem right. Everything was designed to generate as much money as possible ," Jordan wrote.
According to official CompuBox statistics, Prenga threw just 17 punches in the second round, landing only three of them. In the first round, he had attempted 46 punches and landed 13 times.
However, despite Prenga's apparent decline in pace, there is no evidence to support claims that the match was fixed.
There was also a lot of reaction from fans on social media, some of whom agreed with Jordan's theory.
"This has to be the most obvious rigged fight ever. Prenga knocks Joshua down twice in the first round, then comes out in the second and barely lands a punch," one user wrote.
"Did someone tell Prenga to lose the match after the first round? In the second round, she threw almost no punches. Tricked," commented another.
Another fan added: "There's something very fishy here. He was dominating Joshua, then in the second round he looked like he didn't want to fight anymore. Very fishy."
So far, neither Anthony Joshua, Kristian Prenga, nor the organizers of the duel have reacted to these claims.
