Goalkeeper Alen Sherri underwent surgery today as a result of the serious injury he suffered in the Italian Cup match against Monza. After a collision with a teammate, he suffered multiple fractures to his face and had to leave the field of play bleeding, ending up in hospital where he spent the night.
Consultations with specialists have shown that surgical intervention was inevitable and for this reason, Sherri underwent it today to reconstruct the damaged part of the cheekbone and nasal bone. According to the club itself, he is expected to be absent for the next two months if everything goes according to plan in his rehabilitation.
" Frosinone announces that the footballer Alen Sherri has undergone a surgical intervention to reduce a polyfragmentary fracture of the right orbital-maxillo-malar complex and nasal bones, with reconstruction of the orbital floor and retention with titanium fixation devices. The surgical intervention was performed by Professor Roberto Pistilli and his team (Dr. Valter Kolanxheli and Dr. Kiara Veneroso – Anesthesiologist Dr. Milena Sanxhovani) at the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery of the "San Camillo-Forlanini" Hospital in Rome and was technically successful. The goalkeeper will begin his rehabilitation program in the coming days. The recovery time is expected to be 60 days ," Frosinone's announcement reads.
