Rudi Vata has responded to Ilir Demalia after the latter criticized him with a status on social networks that the former captain of Albania had lied in the autobiographical book "My life! Football, freedom and Paradise".
In a reaction to "Top Channel", Vata says that he will sue Ilir Demalia for defamation of his image and false accusations against him.
"I don't know this guy at all and I've never even heard of him. I don't know what this man does, what contribution he has to society and what his intentions are when he throws mud at others. I'm telling this guy that the truth is that I've been learning foreign languages illegally. I was 9 years old and my parents agreed with a priest, who had imprisoned him for 22 years in that system. He taught me and my brother Italian twice a week. My mother is alive, my brother is alive, how can I lie about this?
Secondly, I have not said anywhere that a foreign language was not taught in that system, but I have said that I learned it illegally. The truth is this.
This guy (Demalia) goes to the media and says I lied. So he calls me a frog...! Without reading the book at all, but simply with bits and pieces published in the British media, this guy comes out and calls me a moron...
I tell him that I have been living abroad for 33 years, I have left the "herd" and when I decided to do this, I also decided to change Rudi Vata. I decided to become an open-minded citizen who can provide life with hard work and sweat, but also be a correct citizen.
And this man who accuses me of being a liar, what does he do in life? I have a question for a man this age dating a man my age. Do you have a family, do you have children, do you have plans in life? Have you realized them? Do you feel good as a man when you attack a man with children and separated from the "herd" for 33 years, without falling on anyone's neck?
I am telling this guy that as a British citizen and the embassy in Albania, I will pursue him legally. A man who decides to accuse me of being a rascal and assault me should also face the law in such cases.
And as for Italian, yes, I learned it like that illegally, but it served me, because the then coach of Sëltik, Liam Brady, fortunately had played for Juventus and I had the opportunity to speak with him in Italian. This detail was also important for my career. This guy who mentions how I felt in 1991 and the conditions we lived in, I tell him that he himself might have been fine, but those of us who escaped were forced to seek asylum. We were asking for asylum even though we had played against Papin, Kantona, Boli, etc. But that's how it is when you haven't read the book…”
