Renowned Albanian actor Mehdi Malkaj made a bold confession on the evening of December 31st on the " Now" show with Erla Mëhilli.
He has shared with the public one of the most heartfelt moments of his life, describing the year we just left behind as the most beautiful he has ever experienced.
Unlike expectations related to professional successes or artistic accolades, the reason for this accolade is personal and very strong: his son has managed to give up drugs after many years of struggle.
In a candid testimony, Malkaj says that this has been the most difficult ordeal of his life as a parent.
"I think this is the most beautiful year of my life and my family. For a very strong reason: I have two children, a boy and a girl. The boy was a drug user for many years, now he is no longer. If you hate someone very much, never curse him "for watching children use drugs". I have been fighting for years, the family... If you have something like this, there is never a home...", he said.
Years filled with anxiety, pain, and fear have left deep marks on the actor, but he says that today they have been replaced by the hope and relief that a new beginning brings.
For Malkaj, his son's recovery is not only a family victory, but also a message to all parents facing similar challenges: patience, support, and love are the keys to overcoming addiction.
