In 2024, the richest people on the planet saw their wealth increase dramatically, with only one exception. At the top of the list is Elon Musk, with a fortune of 245 billion dollars. The increase of $16.4 billion in 2024 is mainly attributed to the increase in the value of the shares of his companies, Tesla and SpaceX.
Next is Jeff Bezos, whose fortune reached $201 billion, an increase of $24.4 billion. Bezos remains at the center of the global financial scene as the founder of Amazon.
In third place is Bernard Arnault, the only one of the 15 who saw his fortune decrease by $10.1 billion, reaching $197 billion. Arnaud remains one of the strongest players in the luxury space with the LVMH group.
Mark Zuckerberg ranks fourth, having increased his fortune by $59.9 billion in 2024, largely thanks to Meta's success. In fifth place is Bill Gates, with a fortune of 158 billion dollars, followed by Larry Ellison of Oracle, whose fortune reached 153 billion dollars.
The list goes on with names like Google's Larry Page, Microsoft's Steve Ballmer, Berkshire Hathaway's Warren Buffett and Alphabet's Sergey Brin.
Nvidia's Jensen Huang made the biggest gain, with his fortune increasing by $69.9 billion to $114 billion.
Mukesh Ambani, Michael Dell, Gautam Adani and Amancio Ortega complete this impressive list, each maintaining or increasing their wealth through 2024.
Despite the differences in the origins of their wealth, what these 15 people have in common is their continued ability to invest strategically and take advantage of international economic trends, with the exception of only Bernard Arnault, who has a slight decline of his wealth.
