Former US envoy to the Balkans, Richard Grenell, has reacted to statements by Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani regarding the US administration and support for Kosovo.
In a post on the social network X, Grenell accused Osmani of lying and criticized the current government in Kosovo.
"She is lying. The Kurti/Osmani team has been a disaster and we are all seeing it clearly. It will mean everything for her political survival ," Grenell wrote.
His reaction came after Osmani stated that Donald Trump's second administration is the most pro-Kosovar administration in the US since the time of George W. Bush, and when Kosovo declared independence.
In the quoted statement, Osmani also said that the Joe Biden administration had continuously requested certain actions from Kosovo in relation to the dialogue and political developments in the region.
We recall that this harsh reaction of Grenell comes 3 days after the latter announced the return of Hashim Thaçi. Grenell called the new elections in Kosovo good news after the Assembly failed to elect a new president. He also linked this to the return of former president Hashim Thaçi.
" Excellent news. God is preparing us all for the return of Hashim Thaçi! Thaçi for Prime Minister," Grenell wrote on X.
