After the insults and curses in Elbasan, Prime Minister Edi Rama has continued the clash on social networks, responding in harsh tones to commentators and opponents of the project in Zvërnec.
In a reaction on Facebook, Rama mocked the protesters and public figures who have joined the cause against the investment, accusing them of spreading false scenarios about the destruction of the environment and protected areas.
The Prime Minister wrote that the protesters are fighting against "imaginary projects," "imaginary traitors," and trying to save "flamingos from imaginary death," while harshly criticizing the language used by commentators towards Socialist Party supporters.
"The waste of your mouth," was one of the expressions used by Rama in his reaction, as he also published offensive comments that he said were directed at the socialists during the event held in Elbasan.
At the end of the message, the head of government reiterated that the projects in Zvërnec and Sazan will not be stopped, describing them as strategic investments that will become new engines of the country's economic and tourist development.
"So when you gather with the Square Circle, with bloggers and influencers who come to the boulevard to get followers and flattery on the podium, with all kinds of nonsense around, and fight with imaginary traitors, against imaginary projects, to protect nature from imaginary destruction and to save flamingos from imaginary death, this is the 'New Albania', the 'Albania of Albanians', the 'Albania that is not for sale'...
"These attachments are just some of the remnants of your mouth, addressed to the socialists of Elbasan today, which I am attaching to this note for all those who mistakenly think that there is any environmentalism left in that protest that was inspired by the feelings of many, assuring all good and concerned people without distinction that the Zvërnec and Sazan projects will never be stopped, but will become examples of national pride, new engines of an economy worthy of a European Union country, exemplary reflections of sustainable development and destinations that the whole world will see with admiration," Rama writes.
