Socialist Party MP Erion Malaj says that the majority will move forward with the Territorial Reform, even if consensus is not reached with the opposition.
"I think that consensus would be the right and best path. We as a political force must advance this reform, but we must definitely exploit the opportunity to have consensus in every corner."
It is a reform that is being carried out by politicians who ultimately look after the interests of their party. In this specific case, I think that when we reached the number of municipalities, for political reasons this consensus is not being found.
This is necessary as a reform, just like the Electoral Reform. The only time I saw consensus was the day of the joint resolution in Parliament. Since that moment, we have had ups and downs in the political conversation with the opposition," Malaj said in the "Off the Record" studio.
"I think that if that consensus is not reached, for which the opposition representatives should be asked why it is not being achieved, we have the obligation as a majority to move the reform forward," added the socialist MP.
