Bedri Qypi has been elected chairman of the Democratic Party branch in Belsh, within the framework of the internal elections that this party is holding, a process that must be concluded by April 30, based on an instruction from the democratic leader, Sali Berisha.
Qypi, who received 307 votes, was running against Roland Bullari, who collected 163 votes. The election process was overseen by political leader Tomor Alizoti.
"These elections do not divide us, but unite us more than ever. Today we emerge stronger and more determined to continue our political journey," said Qypi, adding that the objective is now a clear victory in the upcoming elections.
Qypi has previously led the PD branch in Belsh, Elbasan district. The Elbasan PD has been embroiled in debates in recent days, after a decision by the structures allegedly unjustly excluded several names, including Alesia Balliu and Doris Madhi, who also holds the position of chairwoman of the opposition councilors group in the Elbasan municipal council.
