A fire that broke out a day ago in Fllaka, Durrës, where 8 buses were burned, has been referred to the prosecutor's office as an accidental event.
In a second announcement, Durrës police explain that from initial investigative actions it is suspected that the fire was caused by an electrical spark in the battery of one of the buses.
"Following the information provided yesterday regarding the fire in the bus park, where 8 out-of-function buses were burned, we inform that the Crime Investigation specialists of the Durrës Police Commissariat referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office as an accidental event, as from the first investigative actions it is suspected that the fire was caused by an electric spark in the battery of one of the buses ," the police say.
Dozens of buses were destroyed by fire in the Rinia sector in Durres yesterday afternoon.
The buses were lined up very close to each other, making it easier for flames to spread from one vehicle to another.
Durrës Police announced that the fire broke out around 1:45 PM, in neighborhood no. 15, Durrës.
