Knife fight between teenagers in Shkodra, court acquits organizers of mass brawl
Scene from the moment of the fight

A serious incident occurred a few days ago between a group of minors in Shkodër. Klevin Thepi and Doronesto Kulla organized a massive fight near the school premises, also using knives. As a result of the fight, two minor brothers were injured.

The Shkodra Court has decided to release the two arrested perpetrators, imposing a mandatory appearance order on them.

The fight involved about 15 young people, divided into two groups, mainly aged 17–18. The conflict started with punches and then escalated with the use of hard objects, while during the fight it is suspected that a cold weapon (knife) was also used. As a result of the violence, three teenagers were slightly injured and were transported to the Shkodra regional hospital, where they received medical attention.

They are out of danger. According to preliminary investigations, the conflict is suspected to have originated from a previous clash between students. 19-year-old DK is suspected of being involved in the fight to help his 17-year-old brother, a student at the “Shejnaze Juka” school, joining the fight with other people. Footage captured by security cameras shows the moment when the two groups come together and start the physical clash, which lasts about a minute, before dispersing.

Immediately after the event, the Shkodra Police forces and the officers of the “Eagle” unit intervened at the scene, seizing film evidence and starting the investigation. Initially, the two young men suspected of being organizers were arrested, while criminal proceedings were initiated against five minors (four 17-year-olds and one 16-year-old) while they were at large. Meanwhile, specialists from the Narcotics Investigation Section referred materials to the Prosecutor’s Office for a 17-year-old, who during a physical search was found and seized a quantity of suspected cannabis.

"The police have also identified other people involved in the conflict, while investigations continue for the full legal documentation of this event. The exact causes of the beating still remain unclear, but it is suspected that the conflict occurred for weak motives," the Shkodra Court announced.
