
Durrës police have arrested two Colombian nationals suspected of engaging in prostitution in the coastal city. Meanwhile, it is reported that 6 Albanian nationals suspected of being clients of the Colombians have been released.
The police announced that they have finalized the 12th phase of the police operation codenamed "STORM", arresting two Colombian citizens, 23 and 25 years old, in flagrante delicto.
The Colombians had rented an apartment in neighborhood no. 1, "Taulantia" street, which they used for illegal activity.
As material evidence, two passports of foreign citizens, sums of money in euros and lek, as well as 10 remittance forms with a total value of 15,093 euros, sent to family members in Colombia within 20 days, were seized.
Police notification
The 12th phase of the police operation codenamed "Storm" was finalized, followed by special investigation methods for a period of several weeks, for the criminal offenses of "Prostitution" and "Adaptation of premises for prostitution".
As a result of this operation, in neighborhood no. 1, "Taulantia" street, Volga area, Durrës, citizens JC, 23 years old, and MA, 25 years old, born and residing in Colombia, were arrested in flagrante delicto.
Also, during the operation, 6 Albanian citizens from Durrës, Shijak and Kavaja were prosecuted at large for the criminal offense of “Prostitution”. As material evidence, 2 passports of foreign citizens, amounts of money in euros and lek, as well as 10 forms of monetary remittances with a total value of 15,093 euros, transferred to family members in Colombia within a 20-day period, were seized.
"The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further action," the police announced.
