Rexhep Rraja, the son of former Socialist MP Rrahman Rraja, turns out to have led one of the criminal groups targeted by SPAK, involved in the trafficking of around 2.4 tons of marijuana and cocaine towards European Union countries.

According to the SPAK investigative file, the group led by Rexhep Rraja played the role of organizer and orderer of the trafficking of 236 kilograms of marijuana, seized on January 26, 2021 at the Kapikule border crossing in Turkey.

The investigations have documented communications between members of the group, clashes after the drug seizure and suspicions of people who may have betrayed the scheme. This group also included Përparim Rraja, owner of the quarry in Borizanë, as well as Gazmir Rraja, along with Bujar Sefa (alias “Xaka”), Agim Nina (alias Lorenc Selmani), Jani Çavo, Aldo Gjini (alias Iamandi), Sokol Qaja, Marvin Bushati and Elton Bogdani, the truck driver.

According to SPAK, Agim Nina maintained direct contact with the truck driver and informed the other members about the vehicle's movements at the Edirne-Kapikule customs, through WhatsApp communications. Although the truck with Albanian license plates initially passed the scanner, Turkish authorities stopped the vehicle for a physical check, where the narcotics hidden in the roof were discovered.

On the morning of January 27, 2021, the truck driver lost contact with the group members, after the vehicle was detained at Turkish customs premises for detailed inspection.

Wiretaps on SKY ECC:

"Brother, the road we took went into customs last night at eight o'clock in the evening, he informed us that I was going to enter, they were going to put me through a physical check, said the driver. He told him the owner of the company, and he gave me the location of all the conversations, meaning he went in last night at eight o'clock in the evening and nothing came out. He didn't even answer anything. He said he was there today, and the truck is there at customs, but nothing came out in the news either, he said I'll explain it to you tomorrow," writes Gazmir Rraja -Bujar Sefa.

Gazmir Rraja writes to Sefa that the truck driver is 99% certain that he has been arrested, but nothing has been reported in the news yet.

"Ninety-nine percent of us think it fell, you know, since it went in last night at eight o'clock in the evening and hasn't come out of control, it means they caught it. I think it fell, but tomorrow it won't be clear until it's in the media in the regions, the news will show it, everything, let's see that we don't even know anything about Mr. Ala," he continues.

The next day, on January 38, 2021, Gazmir Rraja wrote to Sefa that the truck had been seized after the driver had called his wife and informed her about his detention.

Gazmir Rraja: The driver had called his wife on the phone and told her to get caught. Let's see how much the news there will give.

Bujar Sefa: shame on the driver, brother

Gazmir Rraja: They don't have enough needles and

Bujar Sefa: where did you go after you put in so much?

Gazmir Rraja: Yes, yes, poor sinner, all of them a little bit behind China.
