People who entered politics by chance, accidentally, through its "door or window", people who came to Tirana with wooden suitcases, and who today own villas, palaces, millions of euros in wealth.
Although Albania has opened and closed many negotiation chapters with the European Union, I think that what is still "opening" on the threshold of the great frontier remains the reform of the political class. Do not think that, by closing all the negotiation chapters, Albania will have it easy to adapt to the EU with the situation in which our political class is today. Angry, ambitious, deceitful, naive, provincial, most of them uncultured and uncivilized, this is more or less the current resume of a good part of our political class.
People who entered politics by chance, accidentally, through its “door or window”, people who came with wooden suitcases to Tirana, and who today own villas, palaces, millions of euros of wealth. People who, more than the future of the party, society and country, look at the interest of their pocket, family, relatives and properties. People who, more than their political career, are interested in increasing wealth when they have and when they do not have power, who, more than the vital interest of the country’s fate, are more interested in the courtyard of their villa. This is our political class, created not in the “fire of democratic revolutions”, but in the offices of the former 45-year-old government, and who today are served to us as if they were “those who brought freedom, democracy, development”.
More than ever, today our political class urgently needs reform, reduction, sacrifice, self-removal. More than ever, today it must become aware and make a "catharsis" among itself. We cannot go to the European Union with random politicians, with politicians whose only work experience is that of a corrupt, stigmatized, investigated and judged politician.
The European Union does not accept you, with criminal records, with criminal files, the European Union does not accept capricious, deficient, anarchist politicians, with a controversial past. And while Edi Rama's left remains the most renewed political force, with a large army of young politicians, who promise a future in the Socialist Party, the same thing has not happened in the Democratic Party for nearly 3 decades.
Sali Berisha's party has remained the old party filled with servile and hypocrites, who have the eternal president as their "compass" of direction, and who recognize only the abuse of power as their ideology. The European Union cannot accept and dialogue with a party that has a controversial politician, investigated and under trial as its leader. Its only shield remains the party, its only battle remains power. A party that does not purify itself is destined to lose every electoral battle.
