The Palestinian news agency Wafa reports that four people have been killed by Israeli forces in the eastern Gaza Strip neighborhood of Shejaiya.
It quotes a medical source as saying they were killed "when Israeli drones fired on residents who were inspecting their homes."
In a statement on Telegram, an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson said that “a number of suspects were identified as they crossed the Yellow Line and approached IDF forces operating in the northern Gaza Strip, which constitutes a violation of the agreement.”
The yellow line is the border where Israeli troops have withdrawn under Trump's ceasefire plan.
"Efforts were made to drive the suspects away. They did not respond and continued to approach the forces, who opened fire to eliminate the threat," the statement further said.
A Hamas spokesman called the shooting a "violation of the ceasefire agreement."
