New details have emerged from the police operation in Mamurras, which escalated to the use of firearms and ended with the injury of 23-year-old Leonard Dema, who is internationally wanted by Italian authorities.
Journalist Xhensila Kodra showed the dynamics of the event and the moments of tension during the intervention of the Operational Forces.
According to her, the situation escalated when the person accompanying the wanted person, 28-year-old Amadeo Fufi, threatened the officers with a weapon.
"28-year-old Amadeo Fufi pointed his weapon at the operatives. The latter, faced with this threat and to neutralize the persons and prevent them from escaping, shot the car's tires with their service firearm," the journalist told "News 24".
According to reports, police fired at the vehicle's tires to block its movement, while it remains unclear how Leonard Dema was injured in the abdomen.
The investigation team is working to reconstruct the entire scene of the incident and determine the origin of the bullet that struck the 23-year-old.
"The manner in which 23-year-old Leonard Dema was injured remains unclear, whether he was shot inside the vehicle by another person or whether one of the bullets fired by the authorities may have hit him in the stomach and injured him," said Jensila Kodra.
Meanwhile, investigations continue to fully clarify the ballistics and responsibilities related to the serious incident that occurred in Mamurras.
