The Saranda Prosecution Office has reacted to the accusations of the family of Isa Rexhepaj, who was found in an old warehouse in a place called Limjon, neighborhood no. 4 of the city.
Through an official announcement, the Prosecution stated that the judicial police carried out investigative actions, such as inspecting the scene of the incident, seizing items that help clarify the case, and also took statements from citizens who are aware of the circumstances of the incident.
Meanwhile, a forensic examination has been ordered to determine the cause of death.
Isa Rexhepaj's body was delivered to the Saranda hospital morgue to carry out the necessary actions for transportation to the Tirana Institute of Forensic Medicine, for the purpose of performing an autopsy and forensic examination.
We recall that the victim's family said yesterday that they had lost contact with the 64-year-old for 4 days. They were even outraged with the institutions in Saranda because, according to them, the latter had not allowed them to take the body from the morgue.
"Based on some information made public on 18.07.2025, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Saranda informs that on 18.07.2025, the Police services of the Saranda Police Commissariat were notified that in a place called Limjon, in neighborhood no. 4, Saranda, the body of citizen IR was found in an old warehouse.
The judicial police carried out investigative actions, such as inspecting the scene of the incident, seizing items that help in clarifying the case, taking statements from citizens who are aware of the circumstances of the incident, and ordering the necessary examinations, including a forensic examination to determine the cause of death.
The body was delivered to the morgue of the Saranda hospital to carry out the necessary actions for transportation to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Tirana, in order to conduct an autopsy and forensic examination. The first investigative actions were followed by the available prosecutor. We have been informed that the Saranda Hospital has taken measures and transported the body of citizen I. R. on 18.07.2025, to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Tirana, the Prosecution announces.
