
The National Food Authority has discovered that aflatoxin was present in a quantity of 51 tons of corn originating from Serbia.
The AKU informs that the analyses carried out on samples taken from two shipments of corn, animal feed imported from Serbia, have confirmed the presence of Aflatoxin B1.
For this reason, one of the shipments was returned to its country of origin, while the other shipment was blocked for disposal.
" The AKU guarantees public opinion that every imported food product is subject to rigorous controls to guarantee safe food products in the protection of consumer health ," the AKU press release states.
