Bayern Munich have won the long-awaited challenge against Borussia Dortmund, triumphing with a score of 3-2 at “Signal Iduna Park”, within the 24th week of the Bundesliga. With this success, the Bavarian team deepens the difference to 11 points from the closest follower, which is Dortmund, taking an important step towards the championship title.
The match started with high intensity and some strong tackles. In the 20th minute, Niko Schloterbek tackled Josip Stanisic, but was only punished with a yellow card by the referee.
Seven minutes later, Schlotterbeck became the protagonist in the opposing goal. After a free kick executed by Daniel Svenson, the Dortmund defender headed home to make it 1-0, giving the home team the lead.
At the end of the first half, Dortmund lost captain Emre Can, who was forced off the field injured. The first 45 minutes ended with the Yellows' minimal lead.
Bayern responded immediately after the break. In the 52nd minute, after a well-constructed move, Joshua Kimmich passed to Serge Gnabry, who assisted Harry Kane. The English striker sent the ball into the net, tying the scores at 1-1.
In the 69th minute, another foul by Schlotterbeck on Stanisic inside the area resulted in a penalty for Bayern. Harry Kane converted from the spot to make it 1-2.
Dortmund responded in the 83rd minute, when Daniel Svensson scored after an assist from Marcel Sabitzer, restoring the tie to 2-2 and reopening the match.
However, the Bavarians did not give up. In the 87th minute, Joshua Kimmich finished off a move with a precise shot inside the area, scoring the winning goal for 2-3.
With this victory, Bayern Munich moves to +11 points ahead of Borussia Dortmund, making the difference significant in the title race, even though the season continues with several weeks to play.
