Albanian national team defender Adrian Bajrami will continue his career in the Swiss Super League. According to the prestigious Portuguese newspaper 'A Bola', the 23-year-old has been loaned from Benfica to FC Luzern for the 2025-26 season.
Benfica has set Bajram's release clause at 5 million euros if Luzern wants to buy him, adding a buyback clause to avoid losing Bajram, who also held the captain's armband on the B team.
The decision comes at a crucial moment in Bajrami's career, who made just eight appearances for Benfica's first team last season. The loan move is intended to provide the Albanian defender with more playing time and consistency.
Despite limited space, Bajrami was part of Benfica's squad at the Club World Cup, where he came on as a substitute in matches against Auckland City and Bayern Munich, gaining valuable experience in the international arena.
The transfer to Luzern could be a good opportunity for Bajram to reaffirm himself and gain regular form before important matches with the national team in Group K of the World Cup qualifiers.
