Pepe ends with football. The legend of Portugal has made this decision, after the failure that his representative had in "EURO 2024", not going further than the quarter-finals, where they were eliminated by France.
After a long career, which he started in Brazil and continued in Europe, at the age of 41, Pepe decided to "hang up his shoes". A legend not only of Portugal, retires from football after 23 years as a professional.
He will be best remembered for his time at Real Madrid, where he made 334 appearances. In total in his career, the Portuguese defender recorded 878 matches, as he managed to win a total of 34 trophies, becoming part of the best defenders in the world.
We remember that the center back started his career in Brazil with Alagoano, then continued in Portugal with Maritimo and Porto. From 2007 to 2017, Pepe wore the jersey of Real Madrid. Then, the Portuguese decided to join Besiktas, with whom he played for 1 and a half years.
In January 2019, Pepe rejoined Porto, with whom he played until July of this year. With 37 trophies collected, the 41-year-old ends his career at this moment, leaving as an undisputed legend of European football.
