Inter dropped points again in the 30th week of Serie A, drawing 1-1 with Fiorentina in an intense match at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence, on March 22, 2026. The Blues remain at the top of the standings, but the third draw in a row shows signs of fatigue at the end of the season.
The match started in the best way for Inter: in just the first minute, Francesco Pio Esposito scored with a header after a precise assist from Nicolò Barella, giving the Blues a 1-0 lead that seemed to control the match without a problem.
In the first half, Fiorentina had good chances to equalize, Moise Kean and Albert Guðmundsson risked Yann Sommer's goal, but without success. Inter also had a goal disallowed for offside (again by Barella), adding to the tension and controversy.
After the break, Fiorentina increased the pressure and rewarded their efforts in the 77th minute, when Cher Ndour reacted faster than anyone in the area after a rebound and tied the score at 1-1 with a precise shot.
Until the end, both teams had attempts to score, Francesco Pio Esposito had a good chance in the extra minutes that was saved by David de Gea, but the result remained unchanged. The coaches made substitutions to freshen up the game, but neither side managed to get the three points.
This draw is the third in a row for Inter, but they continue to lead the standings with 69 points after 30 weeks, the lead over AC Milan of 63 points, remains 6 points, while Napoli is in third place with 62 points.
