French coach Herve Renard is no longer in charge of the Saudi Arabian national team. The news was confirmed by the coach himself, who told the media that he had been dismissed from his position, just two months before the start of the 2026 World Cup.
In his public reaction, Renard accepted the decision as part of the nature of football, while noting his contribution to the team's leadership.
" Yes, I have been dismissed from the management of Saudi Arabia. This is football. The national team has qualified for the World Cup seven times, two of them with me. I am the only coach to have led the team in the qualifiers and the 2022 World Cup. This remains a source of pride for me ," he said.

Renard, 57, returned to lead Saudi Arabia at the end of 2024, starting a second term. He previously led the team to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where Saudi Arabia pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the tournament, defeating Argentina, who went on to win the trophy.
His dismissal comes at a delicate moment for the Saudi national team, very close to the start of the 2026 World Cup, raising questions about the team's technical stability on the eve of the biggest international competition.
