Italian authorities arrested a 24-year-old Bangladeshi national in the early hours of Friday morning (February 20) after finding him locked inside a safe at a bank branch in Milan.
According to reports from authorities, the young man had entered the vault premises with the intention of opening the security tapes at night. His plan failed when he became isolated inside the armored space, with no way out.
His presence was detected by security cameras, which recorded a person wearing a black sweatshirt and backpack inside the vault room. After being alerted, firefighters and carabinieri arrived at the scene to extract him.

The operation proved complex and ended around 06:00. Initially, the teams intervened by opening another safe where the keys to the main safe were stored, which according to the procedure would not be opened before 08:00. Later, the authorities found that the safe's lock had also suffered damage from the inside, which according to the preliminary assessment is related to the 24-year-old's attempt to escape.
According to Italian media, the 24-year-old had managed to enter the safe during the bank's opening hours without being noticed. According to the same information, no one noticed his presence even when the facility was closed.
