Presidential candidate Vjosa Osmani, at the LDK's "unification rally" in Pristina, accused the Vetevendosje Movement of her political elimination.
Osmani stated that the objections against her came after she had a meeting with US President Donald Trump.
"So, on one side is the path of those who take the country to elections every three months because they are never satisfied, the path of those who make it their mission to eliminate everyone, everyone who puts the Republic before any party and ideological interest, the path of those who sent the country to unnecessary elections and refused the people 51% just to eliminate a president who sat down with the president of the United States ," said Osmani.
Former President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, will head the Democratic League of Kosovo's candidate list in the June 7 snap parliamentary elections.
The LDK leadership also approved the proposal for Osmani to be this force's candidate for another term as president of the republic, while nominating its leader, Lumir Abdixhiku, as a candidate for prime minister.
Abdixhiku said that the decision was taken unanimously by the LDK General Council, adding that the party's electoral list will also include 19 other names proposed by Osmani. In recent days, Osmani has confirmed that part of her political journey will be figures such as: Fahrie Hoti, an activist known mainly for representing the women of Krusha e Madhe after the Kosovo war; Jeta Statovci, former Guxo MP and among the most voted on the LVV list in the last elections; and Albena Reshitaj, former Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning and former AAK MP.
Before leaving LDK, Osmani had been one of the party's most voted figures and, during her political career, has held important institutional functions, including those of president and deputy.
