The leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement in Skënderaj, Hysni Mehani, has reacted publicly after the violent incident that occurred the day before, stating that his biggest concern remains the emotional state of his family and children.

In an interview with "Albania Live", Mehani said that he is trying to calm his family, while considering the physical injuries insignificant compared to the psychological impact that the event has caused on his relatives.

"My family is in a panic. I'm trying to calm my family down. The injuries I received are insignificant to my family. My thoughts are with the children. I've told them I hit my head with a ball, but they don't believe it," said Mehani.

He also spoke about the political climate in Skenderaj, describing the city as a place with a tradition of sacrifice and generosity, while making direct accusations against the mayor and PDK member, Sami Lushtaku.

"What can we expect from a justice system where they haven't yet summoned Mr. Lushtaku?" he declared.

Mehani added that he does not expect a reaction from the Democratic Party of Kosovo towards Lushtaku, saying that he no longer cares what happens to him or the PDK.

"PDK has no power to make decisions about Mr. Lushtaku. I don't care what happens to PDK and Mr. Lushtaku. They are the past and I hope my case will be the last. The younger generations will not accept it ," said the head of LVV in Skenderaj.
