Democratic Party MP Saimir Korreshi mocked Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari during the plenary session, commenting on his stance on the protest held outside the Parliament and the State Police's reaction to the protesters.
During his speech, Korreshi used ironic tones, saying that if it were up to Lamallari, even the chickens that lay eggs would be arrested, which he described as "chemical weapons" being used by protesters against politicians.
The Democratic lawmaker also opposed labeling the protesters as "terrorists," stating that they have taken to the streets in reaction to government policies over the past 13 years.
"I have been in that square for dozens of days by myself and with my family and I am not and have never been with terrorists in the square. If there is a more peaceful protest, it is what is happening today. If it were up to Lamallari and his cronies, they would have arrested all the chickens so that they would not lay eggs because those are the terrorist and chemical weapons that the 'terrorists' are using today out there. Comrade Lamallari should do that instead of dealing with those police forces that have not been bought uniforms for 4 years because they spent 700 euros on a hat," said Korreshi.
