Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to the NATO Summit held in The Hague. He posted photos from the meeting, while stating that it was unanimously agreed that the 2027 summit will be held in Tirana.
" Today in The Hague, the NATO Summit unanimously decided to organize it in Tirana in 2027 ," Rama wrote in a post on social networks.
But even though the Prime Minister sold it as something new, it was actually known that it would be held in Tirana. Rama even boasted during the elections that he would bring Trump to Tirana in 2027. At this Summit, Rama seems to have come up empty-handed. The Prime Minister did not even manage to shake Trump's hand and seems to be content with old news.
The Prime Minister announced the Summit in December 2024: " Even more unthinkable a few years ago is the hosting of the NATO Summit in Tirana, in 2027 where the US president will also be present. We have started working together with NATO. An infrastructure assessment team has come to Tirana and has made an assessment of Tirana that would be impossible if we had not built everything that has been built this decade. Today we are treated as equals not simply formally but with a respect that we have never had before ."
