Fierce debates have emerged from the Conference of Speakers, where the socialist majority has requested the postponement of the June 12 plenary session, with the official justification of the international commitments of several ministers.
But the opposition has strongly opposed this request, describing it as another arrogant display of power that treats the Assembly as personal loot.
Gazment Bardhi, the opposition representative at the Conference, had a direct clash with the speaker Elisa Spiropali, to whom he did not spare irony:
"You, good luck to wherever you will be on the 12th. You have solved the problems in Albania, go and solve the conflict in Ukraine."
He further accused the majority of lacking transparency and attempting to capture the institutions through procedural maneuvers. "The Assembly is not your property and loot, as you have attempted to treat it recently," Bardhi declared in harsh tones.
