Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Monday (July 21) that communication between his government and Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has intensified significantly in recent times.
During a public event, Pezeshkian said that all state actions and strategic decisions for the country's future are being coordinated in full accordance with Khamenei's instructions, emphasizing institutional unity in a period of high tensions.
The president's statement comes at a time when the situation between Iran and the United States remains tense.
According to the source text, Mojtaba Khamenei took over the country after the death of his father during the US-Israeli attacks on Tehran on February 28. Since taking office, he has not appeared in public and has communicated only through written statements published by state media.
According to Saudi Al Hadath television, Pezeshkian's statements may be a response to reports that Khamenei is not on Iranian territory.
According to Al Hadath, citing an Israeli source, the messages published in the name of Mojtaba Khamenei are actually drafted by the new head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Ahmad Vahidi, and other officials of this institution.
The same source also claims that deep disagreements exist within Iran that could also affect the cohesion of the Revolutionary Guard. Also, according to Al Hadath reporting, the Israeli source stated that the United States does not want Israel to participate in new attacks on Iran, even if Tehran were to launch another attack on Israeli territory.
