A report published by Saudi Al-Hadath television, based on an Israeli security source, claims that Iran's supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is not currently on Iranian territory.
According to the same source, Khamenei has not appeared in public since taking over the leadership of the Islamic Republic following the death of his father, Ali Khamenei. The report notes that his communications have only come in the form of written statements.
One of these statements was recently broadcast on Iranian state television. It warned that if the United States embarks on another military confrontation, "the Iranian nation and the resistance front have unforgettable lessons to teach." The same message also accused Washington of violating Islamabad's memorandum of understanding, while stating that "the signature of the American president has no value."
However, the source cited by Al-Hadath claims that these statements were not drafted by Mojtaba Khamenei himself. According to him, they were prepared by the new commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Ahmad Vahidi, along with other senior leaders of this institution.
The report goes even further, claiming that strong clashes are taking place within Iranian power structures, which could even undermine the cohesion of the Revolutionary Guard.
According to this source, the US administration does not want Israel to participate in a new military operation against Iran, even if Tehran were to launch an attack on Israel.
To date, the claims published by Al-Hadath have not been confirmed by independent sources. Authorities in Tehran, Washington, and Tel Aviv have not officially responded to these reports.
