"They called me to a meeting", Elton Tozaj reacts after the violence: I fear for my life and my mother's

Journalist Elton Tozaj, who was raped a few days ago, spoke out after the violence he experienced on the show "Albania Live".

The former Big Brother resident recounted the moments before and after the serious incident.

Tozaj said that he had scheduled a meeting with people who, according to him, had threatened him earlier, in order to clarify the situation and his reaction to the news he had published.

He emphasizes that he went to the meeting in good faith, without thinking about what could happen.

According to the journalist, as soon as he met them, he was attacked and does not remember anything from the moments of violence. He only remembers one sentence that was said to him during the event: "Who are you to change the world?"

When he regained consciousness, he realized he was lying in the street and tried to run away to seek help.

"I've had threats before. I went to meet them in good faith, not knowing what awaited me. When I woke up, I saw myself on the street and ran away. I have the impression that they left me for dead. I think the blows were intended to scare me and get me away from the screen," Tozaj said.

The journalist said that he has not yet filed an official complaint, but is awaiting contact from the Prosecutor's Office, while emphasizing that he feels constant fear for his and his mother's safety.

The event has brought back into focus concerns about the safety of journalists and the pressures they face because of their work.
